Marketingdirektør hos Microsoft France, Cedrick Delmas, ser ud til at bekræfte, at man ikke lancerer en ny Xbox i år. Rygterne havde over de seneste måneder ellers taget til med styrke, og dem blev repræsentanten præsenteret for.

Mere specifikt svarede Cedrik, at han ikke er overbevist om, at der sker noget i år, og at Xbox 360s cyklus endnu ikke er komplet, da denne stadig mangler endnu et nedslag i prisen, hvilket viser, at Microsoft endnu ikke er klar på næste-generation.

"After that, it will happen at E3, it is still premature. What is certain is that there will be nothing new in 2012,"

Han fortsatte med diskutere Microsofts position i forhold til Nintendo, der sender Wii U ud verden over op mod julen.

"We are not here to deal with Nintendo and they are not there to fight against other manufacturers. Nintendo has placed itself in a different cycle, they advance at their own pace, successfully as we have seen with the Wii, and now it is their turn to present their innovation,"

Selvom Cedrik altså her afkræfter en ny Xbox i år, så er det ikke afskrevet, at Microsoft vil annoncere og præsentere sin næste-generation konsol ved E3 til sommer.
