Uncharted er ligesom en pornofilm

Quantic Dreams skaber David Cage mener, at Heavy Rains historiefortælling får Uncharted: Drake's Fortune til at ligne en pornofilm.

"The big difference between Uncharted and what we're doing [in Heavy Rain] is that Uncharted was still structured like a videogame," siger Cage, der i øjeblikket arbejder på det PS3-eksklusive Heavy Rain.

"It gives you a bit of story, then action, then a bit of story, then action - like porn movies, when you think about it," uddyber han. "Porn movies are structured in exactly the same way, except that the action is not the same! Most videogames are done like that.

"It's one thing to do a great cut-scene, even if it's real time. It's another thing to try to tell the story as you play, so the story's not told through cut-scenes, it's told through gameplay. So you don't need acting performance in cut-scenes. You need interactive performance."

Cage fortsatte med at diskutere videospils indhold og deres tilbøjelighed til at lægge op til teenagere, fordi de, mener han, simpelthen er ansvarlige for mediet.

Han ville gerne se mere dybfølt og meningsfuldt indhold for voksne og samtidig slippe af med den typiske helte-figur, hvilket er noget, som han meget gerne vil gøre i Heavy Rain.

"I write something very dark with things, that as far as I know, are serious and have never been used in games," fortalte han. "It's a real story with some very personal things in it, and I hope all this will come through and people will feel that the story is pretty good."

Cage vil ikke uddybe mere om selve Heavy Rain, men han sagde dog, at han er tilfreds med at fokusere alt hans talent på én platform.

Vi har endnu ikke set noget til film noir thriller-spillet siden sidst, hvor det blev vist frem ved E3 i 2006.
